【内容】
この本のコンセプトは、キャリアを「アップ」させる、キャリアで「勝つ」という発想を捨て、そうではないキャリアのあり方を考えようとするもの。

キャリアは、ゲームでもなければ、戦いでもなく、一日一日を精一杯生きた結果として、後からついてくるものであってもよいのではないかという著者の思いが込められている。

スタンフォード大学のクランボルツ教授という方が発表された「Planned Happenstance理論（計画された偶然理論）」というものでは、
①好奇心、②粘り強さ、③柔軟性、④楽観性、⑤リスクテイクの5つのスキルを磨くことにより、キャリアが形成されていくとされている。

この本では、「偶然からキャリアをつくった10人」を取り上げ、そういった方達のキャリアを通して学べる共通点をまとめている。取り上げられているのは、以下の10人。

お薦め度：★★★★★（5段階評価）
ようやくこの1～2年、まともにキャリアということを考えるようになったのだが、この本はどこか気持ちを楽にさせ、すっきりさせてくれるところがあった本。
キャリアというものは、全てが計画的に形成されてきたというよりも、きっと自分がやりたいことや、つらいことを乗り越えてきたら、今の状況になっていた。振り返れば「こういうことがいえるかも」といった人の方が多いのではないかと思う。
自分がこれまでとってきた行動を振り返るとともに、取り上げられている10人の共通点にみられるような魅力的な思考・行動習慣というものを自分でも実践していけたらと思う。
